British dish soap label



Origionally, I wanted to simply print out a copy of a British dish soap label and glue it onto a cheap bottle from a local grocery store. None of the images I found would print clearly enough, so I copied/traced the design in Vectorworks. The resulting image printed very clearly and I decoupaged it onto an American bottle of dish soap which had its label removed.

Pneumatic Trap Door drawings




In my last semester of college, I was on a team that built a pneumatically powered trap door. It used two air pistons that held the door shut and opened it to a fixed position. We used only pnematic equipement that we had in stock, so the challenge was to design the door and platform around the air piston's range of motion. These drawings demonstrate how critical the design phase of a project is and how much effort goes into a project before any physical construction is started.

Caucasion Chalk Circle drawings



I was the Assistant Technical Director for the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee's production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle. I did these drawings of the "Shinto Gate" in Vectorworks based of off the designer's sketches.

"Metal Feet" drawing


To support the free standing Shinto Gate, I designed metal feet that served as stanchions. The legs of the Shinto gate fit directly over them for a snug fit. The feet themselves were bolted into the deck. I completed the drawing, and the welding was done by another student.

Rigging system



At my college, I worked on a project to refurbish a motorized back drop lift system. My section of the project involved the rigging system. I used Vectorworks to prepare drawings of how the rigging would live in the space and show what materials I would use in its fabrication.

Platform drawing


As the assistant technical director for Arms and the Man, I did the drawings for the rotating platform. In this image, you can see how I planned to lay out the lumber used to build the platform, arrange the sheet goods to cover it, where exactly to place the pivot point, and how to arrange the casters around the pivot point in enough places to support the weight of the wall that would be placed on top..
